Description

Fuel tap with increased flow rate and matching lever, suitable for classic Vespa switch scooters.
Problems with the original petrol tap, especially with performance increases and the associated increased fuel requirements, are solved by replacing it with this petrol tap.
So not only for tuning fans a must have, but also worthwhile for drivers who want to be on the safe side with regard to their fuel supply and want to fall back on a more suitable spare part.

Complete set including lever with 2 hole lengths, if using on a large frame cut the lever to correct length.

Over time fuel taps get dirty and can clog up. This results in your carb not receiving enough fuel for proper operation which can lead to serious motor damage, especially while travelling at full throttle. A leaky fuel tap can also have undesirable side effects such as the carb overfilling or the scooter being unwilling to start. In both cases replacement offers a quick and easy solution. We have fuel taps available for all regular Vespa small and large frame models. Regrettably, original PIAGGIO fuel taps for the wide frame models are no longer available. The fuel taps that fit VBB models from the 60s with the glass/metal filters are an ideal replacement. The fuel lever will have to be replaced for a proper fit through the opening in the frame, please consult the table for assistance. Vespa models with no fuel level indicators have fuel taps with three positions: to the left 'C' (Chiuso, Italian for closed) in the middle its open and on the left 'R' (reserve) where about another 25-30km (17-20miles) worth of fuel is available, according to MPG.

Conclusion: Ideal replacement for when the original has seen its better days.

TOP-TIP: The fuel tap remover tool is a great help while performing this job. Purchase is highly recommended. Do not forget new fuel hosing for a professional finish and effective seal.
