The thin steel backplate keeps dirt out of the brake shoe and hub area, these with time can get damaged or corroded, a new part is inexpensive and easy to replace.
NOTE: Unpainted article with transport primer. We recommend to remove it before painting. Scratches in the primer do not constitute a defect.
