This gear has 12 large teeth around the outside of the gear that mesh with the gear on the kickstart shaft, 12 small teeth on the gear that meshes with the gear cluster, and has a 21.8mm central hole. 

Even original PIAGGIO kickstart shafts and mechanisms wear out eventually. O-ring seals become porous, kick-starter return springs lose strength and its buffer rubbers start to tear. These parts must all be checked during every major engine service and replaced as necessary.
